Mayroon bang ritwal para maging Buddhist sa pamamagitan ng PTBF?

Sa Theravada Buddhism, walang formal ceremony gaya ng baptism. Hindi ninyo kailangan ng monk o certificate para maging Buddhist. Kung malalim na ninyong naiintindihan ang Buddhadhamma, pwede ninyong bigkasin ang Refuges at Precepts nang mag-isa sa bahay—mas maganda kung sa harap ng Buddha image, pero hindi naman mandatory.

Kung beginner pa lang kayo, nandito ang PTBF para tulungan kayong mas maintindihan ang orihinal na turo ng Buddha. Sa pagsali ninyo sa aming meditation sessions at pag-kumpleto sa mga modules ng study guide na ito, masisiguro ninyong matututunan ninyo ang mga basic tenets at practices.

Pag naramdaman ninyong ready na kayong mag-convert, sumali lang kayo sa simpleng pag-recite ng “Taking the Three Refuges and the Five Precepts” (Tisarana & Pancasila). Dahil naka-focus ang PTBF sa mismong turo imbes na sa mga mararangyang ritwal, wala kaming kumplikadong initiation rites.

Bilang isang lay fellowship, hindi kami nag-aadminister ng monastic initiation, pero nagho-host kami minsan ng mga bumibisitang Theravada monks. Sa mga pagkakataong ito, nag-aayos kami ng session para pormal ninyong mahiling at matanggap ang Refuges at Precepts direkta mula sa monastic. Napaka-auspicious nito, pero hindi ito striktong requirement para maging isang “tunay” na Buddhist.

Para sa amin, ang conversion ay hindi lang pagpapalit ng relihiyon, kundi isang commitment sa pag-develop ng isip at moral discipline.We tend to view committed meditators as more authentic followers of the Lord Buddha than self-identified Buddhists who do not really practice.
