Celebrating a Decade of Dhamma: The 10th Anniversary of the Philippine Theravāda Buddhist Fellowship

PTBF’s 10th Anniversary

On March 15, 2025, the Philippine Theravāda Buddhist Fellowship (PTBF) celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of spreading the Dhamma and fostering a community of Buddhist practitioners in the Philippines. The event was a heartfelt gathering of members, friends, and supporters who have journeyed with PTBF over the years.

The program began with a heartfelt acknowledgment and appreciation of the co-founding members—Dolly Magpantay, Oey Magpantay, Asoka Silva, and Jeff Escalona, who joined online. The fellowship also extended its gratitude to guest organizations, including Plum Village Boat of Compassion, Kalyana Mitta Meditation Center, and Forest Yogi Meditation Center, as well as the dedicated individuals who have walked alongside PTBF throughout its journey. This was followed by a special recognition of the founder, Mon Rivera, whose vision and unwavering dedication laid the foundation for the fellowship’s growth and continued success

The event was highlighted by a dhamma talk by Venerable Chandima Gangodawila. The talk provided deep reflections on Buddhist practice, inspiring attendees to continue their spiritual journey with commitment and sincerity.

After the talk, the community engaged in a 30-minute meditation session, allowing everyone to cultivate inner peace and mindfulness. The event concluded with the solemn and meaningful ceremony of Taking Refuge in the Triple Gem and the Recitation of the Five Precepts, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to the path of Dhamma.

As PTBF enters its second decade, it remains dedicated to fostering a strong and compassionate Buddhist community, spreading the teachings of the Buddha, and providing a space for spiritual growth. May the fellowship continue to flourish for many more years to come. Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu!
